Background: For each human being, there will be experiences with which we associate powerful emotions, and they often center around the way we treat people and relationships in our lives.
In philosophies shared through writings in This I Believe, such as, “Be Cool to the Pizza Dude,” “In Giving I Connect with Others,” and other works, the writers share their beliefs on how we impact the lives of others as well as how others impact our lives. Often times, these experiences provide us with joy or motivation.
Writing Strategy Option No. 1: Describe a time in which you were elated (overjoyed or delighted) after an experience with another individual. Be sure to provide specific details and an explanation of how you felt to communicate the vividness of the moment. You must use the word elated in your passage or in the topic sentence.
