ANTHROPOLOGY OF MAGIC, WITCHCRAFT & THE SUPERNATURAL RESEARCH PROJECT
For this project, you will be required to create your own short (15-30m) video research presentation and email it to me. You will research an academic article or book chapter from the options provided in the project folder, and then prepare and present a presentation on as it relates to information we covered in this course.
Basic requirements:
Choose your research article or book chapter. Research it. Become an expert on it.
Create a Powerpoint presenting all the important details.
Record your lecture narration for the Powerpoint and save it as a video (If you do not know how to do this, I have included a short tutorial to show you)
Save the video in your Lamar OneDrive account (part of your Microsoft Office email account) and email me the link.
The presentation video must be more than 15 minutes and less than 30 minutes.
Detailed Requirements:
Presenting research from an academic article or book chapter on the anthropology of religion and the supernatural
Research, select, and read your selection of options in the Project folder.
Create a PowerPoint presenting all the important details in the article/chapter.
As best you can, condense all the material from your chosen source to be able to present it in a lecture video that is at least 15, but under 30 minutes long. It is important that you are able to distill the information down in a way that includes all the main points from the source.
You must include at least one slide that relates the source to specific information we covered in class.
Search the internet for accurate images relating to your presentation information that can be included in the PowerPoint. Include citations to the websites (or another type of source you used).
If you use any other sources for your information other than the source and our course text, you will need to provide a citation to the source alongside that information. It is not, however, required to use another source.
Prepare your lecture video. Make it interesting, factual, and educational. It must include your narration—so if you have trouble with the instructions I provide on how to do this with PowerPoint, simple record your screen with your phone camera (set it up so it is not moving) and make sure your narration is clear in the recording.
