What are the characteristics of effective performance feedback?
Performance feedbacks are composed of a bunch of different things and help supervisors when they do their evaluations. They are composed of “customers, peers, attendance records, production data, sales data, or customer feedback surveys.” These are all used to help supervisors determine your performance. This is why if say you are worried that you may not be getting a raise or a promotion to make sure you are doing the right things right. Right now, I am actually getting ready for a big promotion for myself. At the beginning of the year, I sat down with my lead and my supervisor where we basically aired out some things that were happening up to that point. This was also the time where my boss was doing our evaluations and asked us to do a self one as well. Although I can’t disclose what I wrote or what my supervisors thoughts were as well, we had very similar thoughts on what I could do to improve. Especially with the direction the company has been going in recently. But after the talk and evaluation I showed I can get on board. And do the job without having issues. And after my supervisor saw this improvement, he let me know it was all to test myself to see if I can just buckle down and only do what is being asked and leave the b.s. at the door essentially.
