Project Description Purpose
The purpose is to conduct an energy audit for a real facility. Students (future energy managers!) are to strive to deliver value to their clients in the form of practical energy- and GHG-saving measures with a good economic payback.
Scope
The audit may include end-use equipment consuming electricity and/or natural gas. Reports will include engineering and economic analyses. Students will not get a chance to do an on- site audit but will need to rely on the pictures and information provided (may get some help on the Internet).
Confidentiality
All reports and energy consumption information are to be treated as confidential and not
shared with anyone except the course instructors for evaluation and marking purposes.
Purchased energy data & other site information
The facility contacts have agreed to provide utility data (energy, demand, and costs) on
electricity and natural gas for at least 12 months of operation. Information is given in the
building description files.
List the energy services delivered by utilizing the purchased energy carriers, using the
categories outlined in the table below. For buildings, all services will likely fall within
categories 4 to 8 (although some may have vehicle charging or fueling capability).
