This paper is due at the end of the first week. Your paper should follow the paper formatting procedures outlined in the course expectations section of this syllabus. The goal of this paper is to express what components of your life influence the way you read (or will read) the Bible. The presuppositions paper should answer the following questions in 1–2 pages double spaced format. – What is your background and the context you come from? (This may include your race, ethnicity, sexuality, cultural upbringing, family structure, geography, religion, etc.) – How does your background shape you—academically, spiritually, socially etc.? And, how does your background shape the values you hold? – What do you believe to be true (or not true) about the Bible? How do your beliefs shape your ability to understand the Bible?
