Writer U281609,
You previously completed the first two part of the research paper. Now the third part I have to include a planned analyses. Below is the breakdown.
I included the information you have already written previously. See attachment labeled “My Draft”
Our focus this week will be on additional skills and tactics for writing a successful research proposal, particularly your planned analyses — the statistical analysis you will use to evaluate whether or not your data support or refute your stated hypothesis. Use this information as you continue the Research Proposal project, this week focusing on your Planned Analyses section. (If statistics remains a scary concept for you, try to focus on connecting specific tests to specific designs — it’s not necessary at this stage to be fully familiar with the math behind the statistical test you plan to use as long as you know whether the test is appropriate or not to your design!)
You will consider statistical procedures to analyze hypothetical data. (NOTE: you will not be actually collecting data for this course)
Read this first! The attached Guidelines will help you plan out your Planned Analyses section for the Research Proposal project.
Choosing the right statistical test
This PDF document reviews the basics of experimental designs, including between- and within-subjects designs as well as quasi-experimental designs. Also included is a decision map for choosing the right statistical test for your research design, as well as supplemental information on some of the most common statistical tests.
STATISTICS REVIEW: Distributions and Figures to Representing Them – Power Point attached
This Powerpoint will help you review some of the information you have learned about in your statistics course. This review will help you to complete your Literature Review as well as Method & Results drafts, prior to your full Research Proposal. You will be using Tables and Figures for your Method & Results draft, as well as the final Research Proposal (Note: Graphs are called Figures in APA style)
