Write a political theory journal article. Political Theory is typically includes wssays in contemporary or historical political thought, normative and cultural theory, history of ideas, and assessments of current work are welcome.
Your text should be no longer than 10,000 words total, including text, notes and bibliography (abstract excluded). The entire paper must be double-spaced, with one-inch margins and 12-point font. Text and notes should conform to The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition. Simple citations should appear in-text using the author-date system described in chapter 15 of CMS and refer to a bibliography that appears at the end of the manuscriipt. Bibliographies should not include material beyond what is cited in the article. Longer notes should appear as footnotes and should also be double-spaced in 12-point font; any citations in such notes should use the same style as in-text citations. All identifying information should be removed from the manuscriipt. Manuscriipts that do not meet the submission standards will be returned to the author(s) for correction before being considered.
The topic for this research will revolve around questions such as the legitimacy of Vladimir Putin’s presidential regime. Tie in theoretically the concept of religion in Russia, the importance of religion, and how the religious backing behind Putin’s regime can greatly aid in the domestic legitimization of his regime. Potentially explore further with concepts such as is Putin’s legitimacy, threatened by international organizations and ngos because they can reduce his reputational level (reputational cascades) and incur a lot of audience costs by sanctioning him, or speaking out against him? But at that point what even is legitimacy? how influential does these outside organizations be and how can Russian orthodox church potentially help mitigate the effects caused by these outside organizations? Who is the leviathan of international politics? Of the international world order? Regardless, this research project should show a clear proficiency in political theory and be made with similar professionalism as if it would be submitted to an academic journal, meaning an introduction, thesis statement, literature review, discussion, counter arguments, conclusions, and references.
