INTRODUCTION
In
your career as an IT manager, you may need to use different methods of
communication depending on themessage you are communicating, the reason you are
communicating it, and the audience you arecommunicating with. Also, you may
need to provide feedback about communication deliverables that youremployees
create so that the employees can improve their deliverables.In this task, you
will choose one of two scenarios in the Supporting Documents section: “Scenario
1” or“Scenario 2.” You will then critique that scenario’s PowerPoint
presentation.Based on your critique, you will construct an email to the employee
who created the presentation withrecommended improvements that could be made to
the presentation to enhance the messaging.For the purposes of this task, the
term audience is used to represent the people with whom you arecommunicating.
This term is often used in the field of technical communication. In a work
setting, however,you may see audiences referred to as stakeholders.You are
encouraged to move through Tasks 1 and 2 in sequential order. It is beneficial for you to use the samescenario as you work sequentially
through tasks.
SCENARIO
For
the chosen scenario, imagine that you are the IT manager who has tasked an
employee with gatheringapplicable data and developing a deliverable that you
will present to each of the scenario’s audiences. Uponreviewing the
presentation that the employee developed, you notice errors that must be
addressed beforethe presentation can be delivered. You plan to write an email
to the employee with recommendations toimprove the deliverable.
REQUIREMENTS
Your submission
must be your original work. No more than a combined total of 30% of the
submission and nomore than a 10% match to any one individual source can be
directly quoted or closely paraphrased fromsources, even if cited correctly.
The similarity report that is provided when you submit your task can be usedas
a guide.
You must use the
rubric to direct the creation of your submission because it provides detailed
criteria thatwill be used to evaluate your work. Each requirement below may be
evaluated by more than one rubricaspect. The rubric aspect titles may contain
hyperlinks to relevant portions of the course.
Tasks may not be
submitted as cloud links, such as links to Google Docs, Google Slides,
OneDrive, etc., unlessspecified in the task requirements. All other
submissions must be file types that are uploaded and
submittedas attachments (e.g., .docx, .pdf, .ppt).
A. Identify one
scenario (“Scenario 1” or “Scenario 2” in the Supporting Documents section)
that you will useas the context for your submission.
Note: It is
recommended that you use the same scenario for Task 1 and Task 2.
B. Using the
information in the scenario you identified in part A, critique that scenario’s
PowerPointpresentation (“Scenario 1 PowerPoint” or “Scenario 2 PowerPoint” in
the Supporting Documents section)by doing the following:
1. Explain why two
structural, content, or design components from each slide are ineffective
orinappropriate for communicating the information, including specific
examples from all eight slides.
2. Explain why
the deliverable is ineffective or inappropriate for each of the three audiences
from thescenario identified in part A, including specific
examples for support.
C. Write an email
to the employee who created the presentation from part B recommendingthree improvements
that could be made to enhance the message.
1. Explain why
each of the recommendations from part C would enhance the message using details
fromthe scenario from part A for support.
D. Acknowledge
sources, using APA-formatted in-text citations and references, for content that
is quoted,paraphrased, or summarized.

Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your
