Continuation of the Culture Map.
1. What factors contribute to whether or not a culture is confrontational? Would you consider yourself confrontational, and does your personal preference align with your cultural upbringing?
2. Meyer cautions not to confuse emotional expressiveness and confrontation. Look at Figure 7.3 and discuss on how disagreement might play out in a German vs. Mexican context.
3. Discuss the differences between monochromatic/linear‐time cultures and
polychromatic/flexible‐time cultures, including arrival times, scheduling, waiting, and meeting agendas? Why do some cultures value punctuality (i.e., Germany)
whereas others value flexibility (i.e., Burundi)? What would you consider yourself to be?
4. Based on the culture map and what you learned from the book, what are three specific things you can do to improve communication with clients or colleagues from different cultures going forward? This is specific to you.
5. What was your favorite part of the book? Be specific!
6. What was your least favorite part of the book? Again, be specific.
7. If you had to change something about the Culture Map (like the dimensions, not the actual book), what would you change and why?

All answers should be 250 words long, excluding the prompt. Ten points off for incorrect spelling and grammar.
