Writing Prompt
According to Agger, explain the key differences between “liberal” and “socialist” feminism. As you explain these differences, be sure to outline how their strategies for achieving gender equality also differ. Why is capitalism, as a system, an important issue for socialist feminists as they consider the link between gender and social class? What is “postfeminism,” how does it differ from liberal feminism, and how has it signaled a potential decline in women’s status relative to men? Be sure to *directly* cite the chapter extensively and provide at least three specific reasons why, according to Agger, postfeminism is a sign of “regression” for women in recent years.
