The purpose of this assignment is to discuss the impact of preventative care on population and community health. Specifically, we will explore endemics, pandemics, and epidemics.
Instructions
Research an outbreak and resolution of a specific disease (ex: Typhoid Mary, Measles, Zika, Ebola, 1854 London Cholera Epidemic, Chikungunya, SARS, etc.) and create a timeline of the disease. You will write a scholarly paper describing the timeline and the disease’s effects on population and community health.
Provide the historical/background information as an introductory paragraph.
Describe relevant societal factors that impacted the disease timeline, such as healthcare disparities, global events, status of healthcare and access to care etc.
Create a visual timeline and include the timeline in your paper.
Summarize the impact or role of nurses/the nursing profession during the timeline as a written conclusion.
Format and Grading
The paper should be a minimum of 4-5 pages. This includes a title page, page numbers, appropriate content structure and headings, correct in-text citations, and a reference page.
The paper should adhere to APA 7 format.
Students are expected to use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
