The first page of your strategic plan is the title page, followed by the executive summary and then the table of contents.
Part I: Executive Summary
The Executive Summary is a one page (double-spaced) summary of your entire strategic plan. It is the very first page of your paper and it appears right after the title page. This document is important because it may be the only part that your audience may read at first glance; at least, until they go back and read each section.
Note: The Executive Summary is not background and not an introduction. People who read only the Executive Summary should get the essence of the document without fine details.
The highlights of your strategic plan to be included in your Executive Summary are:
General statement on CHS/MBHS challenges
Your strategic recommendations, according to priority
Overall period of time required for implementation
General statement regarding resources needed for implementation
The anticipated outcomes for your strategic plan
Part II: Table of Contents
The Table of Contents appears right after the Executive Summary of your strategic plan. It provides a road map or outline for your audience so that they can quickly and easily navigate your paper. It should include the section headers and any subheadings in your paper. Download the attachment as a template and tweak it to fit your strategic plan.

Note the following tips for success:
APA format should be applied to all parts of the paper.
Papers should be double-spaced, using a 12 point font.

The paper should be written in third person (No “I”, “we”, “us” or “our” statements).
Each section should have information unique to that section. No section should repeat any information that has been previously provided in another section.

No assigned questions should appear in the final project. The paper should flow as a professional, comprehensive strategic plan and not as several separate assignments.
There should be one references section at the end of the strategic plan and it should include all references from all other sections of the paper in alphabetical order. APA format should be applied to all citations and references.
All figures, tables and attached documents (except for the SWOT analysis) should be included at the end of your strategic plan in the appendix, in the order that they appear in the body of your paper. Each figure/table should be titled and appear on its own separate page.
