Your cover page should include the title of this writing assignment. Below that please list what assignment you are using and what course it was originally written for. Include your name on the cover page as well.
Take a one-page sample of your writing. You may use something you wrote for this course or a page from an assignment you have written for any other college class you have taken. Calculate the Flesch Kincaid Grade level score for your writing sample. You may calculate the score by hand (show your work) or by using an online calculator (provide the URL).
Include your writing sample and its score at the beginning of your paper. Then re-write your page with the goal to have a writing sample that has a readability score between 70-60 so it is written at the 8th-9th grade reading level. This is the writing level required for training materials in the U.S. military, insurance policies, and legal documents. (That means your sample cannot be written at this level.)
After your new writing sample show your new score and grade level.
Write a summary explaining what you had to do to modify your writing. What did you learn? Was it difficult?
