Leadership Reflection Paper Guidelines
ATI Nurse’s Touch: The Leader

The simulation cases can be found in ATI study materials under the learning tab. There are 5 modules available you are only required to complete cases #1, #2, and #4.

1. Watch each of the above cases and complete all questions in the simulation to progress through each stage.
2. Spend a minimum of 30 minutes in each simulation and a score of 80% is required.
3. Upload the completed module reports (3 in total) to the Leadership Reflection Paper assignment.
4. Select one of the cases that you would like to use to write your Leadership Reflection paper.
5. Upload the Leadership Reflection Paper assignment as a Word document.

As part of the Leadership Reflection paper, you will answer the below questions based on the chosen simulation.
1. Write a reflection on how you would incorporate the leadership topic in your nursing practice.
2. How would you conduct yourself as a leader in the chosen simulation?
3. How would you develop these leadership qualities as a nurse?
4. As the nurse leader in this simulation, what would you have done differently?
Find two peer-reviewed articles that support a topic that was presented in the simulation. These articles can also help to validate the leadership topic. Such as Case #1 find articles on delegation as part of the role of the RN being a leader.

In addition to the above questions, you will also answer the questions below that are specific to the case that has been chosen.
Case #1 Managing the Team
1. What are the steps for resolving conflict?
2. How would you have addressed Curtis’s behavior?
3. What tasks can be delegated to an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP)?
4. What tasks can be delegated to a Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN)?

Case #2 Client Safety Event
1. How has the charge nurse Beverly assumed the role of the nurse leader when speaking with the patient and the family?
2. How has the charge nurse Beverly assumed the role of the nurse leader when speaking with the nurse Sarah?
3. What should have Sarah completed before contacting the provider?

Case #4 Quality Improvement
1. What is the importance of audits and quality improvement in nursing practice?
2. How can a nurse leader implement quality improvement in nursing practice? Be specific.
3. What is the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA cycle) and how can it help with the implementation of quality improvement?
I chose to do case #4 and I have attached the rubric as well as the assignment I completed answers so that the questions can be answered
