Your purpose is to persuade your audience that you have met the course outcomes
Your audience is the faculty from the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition (these faculty are experts in Writing Studies, but they have not been part of your particular class).
Consider the expectations of your audience for the kinds of evidence you will need to use and the genre conventions you will need to follow to achieve your purpose:
You will want to use the key terms/vocabulary of the discourse community/audience you are targeting
You will want to use textual evidence from your own writing and from the course readings
Follow genre conventions for memo format and tone
Your memo must address the genre knowledge outcome, plus 1-2 course outcomes of your choice.
To successfully argue you have met the genre knowledge outcome, you should focus on Assignment 4 (Writing for a Public Audience). Discuss how you identified the genre conventions for your chosen genre, how you emulated them in your own work, and your understanding of their function (e.g., what those conventions are designed to do in terms of helping the text achieve its purpose).
You will have to make your own decisions about how to persuade your readers you have met the additional 1-2 course outcomes you select to discuss in your memo.
Your memo conclusion should comment on how you expect to transfer what you have learned about academic, professional, and public writing to future writing situations. You will be more persuasive here if you focus on conceptual thinking—what you understand about how these different types of writing work—then on local concerns (e.g., the importance of proofreading).
