Revision from Essay (See following instructions)
Nov 27 4:40PM.
BOLD ALL REVISIONS IN THE SPEAKER’S NOTES AND HIGHLIGHT REVISIONS IN THE SLIDES THEMSELVES. Healthcare leaders are frequently able to share ideas, promote change, and engage their team in evidence-based changes. One method of engaging and communicating with your team is the use of presentations using powerpoint.I appreciate your efforts and note your intent to develop a strong presentation. I encourage you to carefully review the tutorials and links I posted.. I think you will find them very helpful. All slides are heavy with bulleted points and unlikely to hold the attention of the audience. As a healthcare leader with an advanced degree, the expectation will be for you to provide presentations that are in concert with best practices. It will be to your advantage to be current and informed in terms of skilled and engaging presentations. REVISIONS NEEDED: You will need to revisit any Criteria marked as Basic or Non-Performance… see comments and feedback in the scoring rubric. As outlined in the posted tutorials for this assignment, I recommend the following slides to ensure you address all required content (this is not a mandate.. but a suggestion to help you succeed). Keep in mind Lynette’s note asking you for detailed speaker’s notes. For success, please use the following number of slides and order of slides… use the headings. The headings and order of these slides are not mandated, however, they are offered as a way to organize your presentation and ensure all required content is easily addressed.Slide #1 Title SlideSlide #2 Presentation OutlineSlide #3: Need for Diversity ProjectSlide #4: Objectives of the Diversity ProjectSlide #5: Composition of the Workforce Diversity CommitteeSlide #6: Role of the CommitteeSlide #7: Developing Interprofessional CollaborationSlide #8: Characteristics of a Diverse and Inclusive WorkplaceSlide #9: Benefits of a Diverse and Inclusive Workplace:Slide #10 Examples from The FieldSlide #11: Wrap UpSlide #12: ReferencesAfter the slides are created, you will need to integrate an audio recording of the presentation. You can do this using KALTURA or Office 365 PPTX. Be sure to record in your own voice as this is an opportunity for you to practice how you will present in your leadership role in healthcare.Review Using Kaltura if you are using this course room tool to record your presentation.Alternatively, you can use PPTX in Office 365. Here is a link for how to do this:https://youtu.be/LZCTVcbjnb0https://youtu.be/PLjFryotQ7AYour submission should include the following:1. The completed powerpoint slide presentation with FULL SPEAKERS’ NOTES2.
This slide lacking in engaging graphics and is heavy with bulleted points. Note that the substantive content for the presentation should be in the speaker’s notes. The slides are an adjunct to the verbal presentation and should represent the content in an engaging and graphically pleasing way. Move away from deadly boring bulleted points and use engaging graphics and key words to enhance what you are saying in the presentation. See the Sample Presentation in ANNOUNCEMENTS.
FEEDBACK: The plan you outline for fostering inter-professional group collaboration is reasonable.
You did well with identifying a strategy for fostering collaboration among the team (decisions by consensus). Being more specific as to the exact decision strategy you would use would strengthen this discussion and highlight your competencies. I encourage you to think about other strategies, such as team building exercises, ice breakers, brainstorming and vision statements. Interprofessional collaboration is essential to 21st century healthcare delivery and the improvement of patient outcomes. I am confident you will continue to develop your understanding of collaboration and its’ significance in today’s complex and constantly changing healthcare environment.
Describe the basic characteristics of a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Your Result:
NON-PERFORMANCE
Does not identify the basic characteristics of a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Faculty Comments:

FEEDBACK: You did not explicitly and clearly identify the characteristics of a DIVERSE and INCLUSIVE workplace. To discuss the characteristics of diversity, it would be necessary to identify what diversity means and how diversity looks in an organization. Likewise, you did not describe INCLUSION. For example in an inclusive workplace, the employees feel a sense of belonging, feel heard, collaborate with each other, etc. Note that a workplace can have strong diversity, and still not be INCLUSIVE. (Think of a factory full of diverse cultures and ages, yet with an autocratic leadership with little to no embracing of inclusiveness) See: https://dynamicsignal.com/2020/10/16/why-workplace-diversity-is-important/ https://www.betterup.com/blog/what-diversity-really-means-and-why-its-crucial-in-the-workplace https://builtin.com/diversity-inclusion Be sure to cite a SCHOLARLY peer reviewed source (peer reviewed published article). Criterion
Create an organized presentation that clearly communicates all specified content.
Your Result:
BASIC
Creates a somewhat disorganized organized presentation that poorly communicates content.
Faculty Comments:
FEEDBACK: As noted in the feedback, the presentation does not communicate all specified content. You have a credible start and will have a strong presentation when you modify the slides that have been identified and requiring revision. I am confident you will do well. An area to develop is your use of effective visuals, color, and more descriptive speaker’s notes. See the tutorial I posted on the creation of cutting edge powerpoint presentations. Note the need to move away from bulleted points and use engaging graphics to connect with your audience. Adding a graphic or template to a bulleted list is a nice touch, but it does not change the fact that there is a bulleted list. Strive to be cutting-edge and evidence based in the development of all your presentations. I promise if you do this, your audience will be wowed!
