In addition to the reading you will have a reflection paper, this is a lower-stakes assignment where you are just reflecting on/processing what you are watching. Here you talk to me about what you’ve learned from the week, and incorporate that into a discussion about the film you watched for the week. In these reflections be sure to talk about different elements of the films, cinematography, soundtracks, themes, visual representations, etc. (No less than 400 words).
These reflections are designed to encourage students to reflect on their positionality in academia. The students will take time to consider how they are processing the weekly topics and materials. This is a space for students to learn about themselves as scholars and to evaluate their thoughts and feelings about what they are learning. This is also a space to take critical notes on elements of the films in preparation for the midterm.
These reflections are Due every Sunday by Midnight except the last week in which they are due Friday. They should be a minimum of a page in length, double-spaced (400 word minimum), 12-point font, Times New Roman style. This is an opportunity to process thoughts and feelings about topics and material.
