Write a 4-5 page paper (not including the title page and reference list), about a Native woman advocate of your choosing that is connected to the course. This can be a project to do deeper research on somebody we have already learned about, or maybe a person that is connected to one of the movements we have learned about. It must be directly related to our course and this needs to show in your writing. Feel free to reach out to me if you are unsure if the woman you want to write about is fitting for the assignment.
*Your papers must connect back to the course and include at least 5 citations from 5 different course resources with a reference list. This means that they are woven into your writing with connection to the paragraphs, and not just simply added as an afterthought. The majority of the paper needs to be in your own words with proper citations when utilizing other resources. Plagiarism will result in a 0 on the entire assignment.
*Provide background information on the person, a thorough history of what led to their activism, what cause or causes they fight for or against. You will also research their cause and provide well researched information about it. At the end of you paper, please add a personal reflection. This can include information on what it was like to learn about this person and their cause, how it impacts your life and the lives of others, why it is important, what can be done to help, and anything else you feel is relevant.
*Additional information you may want to include (but not required):, history to present day timelines, impact on community, summary of research findings, criticism, etc…
*All writing assignments must be typed, double-spaced in a 12-point font with 1-inch margins all around. All in-text citations and the reference list need to be in APA or Chicago Style format. Please see the Course Syllabus for writing and formatting expectations.
