Your group will watch the film, Me Before You (2016).
You are expected to examine key concepts associated with socioeconomic status, personal beliefs, suicide, euthanasia, disability, dependency, etc., based on the film.
Then, through collaboration and cooperation, your team will create and design a 12-slide group PowerPoint (675-725 words) based on the group’s analysis of the film.
The PowerPoint must include appropriate college-level analysis, logic, grammar, punctuation, transitions, etc. This activity must be written in standard American English and be free of mechanical and grammatical errors.
Your group must employ APA-style formatting and appropriate college writing skills.
Therefore, for your group PowerPoint, you must use critical thinking analysis and include answers to the following questions/statements:
lease number your answers. Use critical thinking analysis, and include answers with quotations and in-text citations for the following:
Compare and contrast the college and vocational issues of the two main characters. Based on the film, include one quotation with in-text citations (Fi O 1).
Compare and contrast the physical and sexual issues as they relate to the two main characters. Based on the film, include one quotation with in-text citations (Fi O 2).
What are the personal beliefs of the two main characters toward euthanasia? Based on the film, include one quotation with in-text citations (Fi O 3).
What message does the film convey about typical grief reactions to the loss of a loved one? Based on the film, include one quotation with in-text citations (Fi O 4).
Identify types of euthanasia that were not included in the film. Based on the textbook (see Chapter 19), include one quotation with in-text citations (Ch 19.2).
Format:
Create and design a 12-slide group PowerPoint (675-725 words). This activity requires a minimum of twelve (12) slides (plus an additional slide for references). The maximum number is fifteen (15) slides including the reference slide.
Create a top-quality, well-developed, and comprehensive PowerPoint with a demonstration of the interconnection between a film and the applicable textbook readings as per the instructions.
Balance out the slides. You should not have one slide with a little text and another with much text. Also, balance your answers to the questions/statements with similar word counts. I do not want to see some very short or very long answers. Balance them out.
On the first slide (the title slide), follow the APA guidelines and provide the name of your team, the first and last names of each team member, the course number and section, the word count, etc. on the title slide of your PowerPoint Presentation. If your group does not include the first and last name of each member, I cannot assign a grade to each of you. Remember to include the names of all group members who contributed to the activity and to include the word count with the words, “word count without quotations, citations, and reference slide.”
Do not count the APA References page slide as part of your 12-slide PowerPoint.
Do not include the APA References page in the 675-725 words word count.
Your word count can only include what you write in your own words on the slides. In other words, your word count cannot include quotations, in-text citations, and references).
Include pictures and/or clip art on each slide. Slides with only pictures, clip art, and little text or no text cannot be included in the 12-slide PowerPoint count. Also, include a theme with a background color for all of the slides. Do not use the colors black and white for a theme. Be cautious when you choose colors, fonts, graphics, music, etc. for your PowerPoint. Professionals do not choose bright colors, “busy” or “blah” designs, etc.
Do not paraphrase or summarize. Use critical thinking analysis, and write in your own words supporting your comments with evidence, quotations, and appropriate in-text citations.
Quotations and in-text citations are required.
For Questions #1-4, include four (4) quotations with in-text citations from the film, and write between 10-15 words per quotation (no more, no less). Reminder, for questions #1-4, four quotations with in-text citations must come from the film.
For Question #5, include one (1) quotation with in-text citations from the textbook, and write between 10-15 words per quotation (no more, no less). Reminder, for question #5, one quotation with in-text citations must come from your textbook.
Stagger the quotations evenly throughout the PowerPoint.
List the film, textbook, and applicable PowerPoint as “References” at the end of your PowerPoint slide presentation.
Do not conduct external research, and do not include additional references (beyond the film, textbook, and PowerPoint) for this activity. If you do, you will lose a significant number of points. This is not a research paper.
Have only one group member (or yourself if you are working individually) post the PowerPoint in Canvas under Assignments. If more than one PowerPoint posting is submitted for your team or for an individual, there will be a deduction in points.
To keep the team updated, after posting the activity, the posting member must inform the non-posting team members via email that the team group PowerPoint was submitted in the Canvas classroom.
Submit your group PowerPoint as one attachment under “Assignments” for this activity. Post the PowerPoint as an attachment in .ppt or .pptx file extensions only. Do not divide up the PowerPoint or post multiple attachments. If you make a mistake, you can repost the assignment before the deadline. Only the last post will be graded. Do not email this activity to the professor.
