You will identify an article that examines one or several consequential policies that affect two or all of the issues (class, race and gender), in other words intersectionality; and the connections of these with the American criminal justice system. The article should address a policy or policies that affect(s) either: a) Class and race, and the criminal justice system, or, b) Class and gender, and the criminal justice system or, c) Race and gender, and the criminal justice system or d) Class, Race and Gender and the criminal justice system. After briefly summarizing the details of the journal article, discuss your thoughts on the article’s content. Analyze historical perspective of the policy on the issues and the criminal justice system (Past Perspective). Appraise the significance of the contents of the article in terms of its effect (or possible affect) on current criminal justice policy? For example, what are the implications of the effect of the article on current criminal justice policy and practice and as it pertains to income status, racial or gender inequality, discrimination or bias or other privileges discussed in the course? Evaluate the effect of the contents of the article with regards to future practice or research in criminal justice policy and practice as it pertains to income, racial or gender inequality, discrimination or bias, or other privileges discussed in the course? Conclude your paper by suggesting objective policy changes based on your research. You must use at least 5 other peer reviewed articles in your analysis apart from the text and the article you have chosen. Identify the article you have chosen in your introduction. I expect you to cite the text (Barak et al, 2018) as well, as you need to make connections and reference to course contents. You don’t have to limit yourself to 5 articles, the more articles the better you can analyze and expand your critical evaluation.
