various positions. For this assignment, students will write a paper defending the Christian faith,
particularly centering on a defense of miracles and/or the resurrection of Jesus against critical
approaches.
INSTRUCTIONS
You will write a research-based paper that critiques a specific critical approach to the
resurrection or develops a positive case for an aspect of the resurrection. The paper should
include a cover page, table of contents, introduction, thesis, conclusion, and bibliography.
• Length of assignment – Maximum of 10-12 pages
• Format of assignment – Turabian
• Number of citations – 10 sources
• Acceptable sources – Sources should be scholarly and up to date (within 5-10 years) and

Paper Topic: The paper’s topic should be narrowly focused. The paper should respond to a
specific critical approach to the resurrection (such as a single a priori challenge to miracles in

for an aspect of the resurrection. Below are examples of paper topics to consider.
A Priori Critical Approaches to Miracles:
• Not Enough Evidence
• Identifying Miracles/Defining a Miracle

• The Disciples Believed that Jesus Appeared to Them
• The Conversion of James
• The Conversion of Paul
