This is the Final Project, developed from your Proposal earlier in the term. This assignment will use the Proposal, along with additional research to create your final project.
Your final project will have three components:
A research-based argumentative essay on your identified Proposal topic; 1200-1500 words
An artist′s statement for the creative component of your project, includes a process discussion; 750-1000 words.

Elaborate on your chosen topic from the course or related to the course content and themes.

Section 1. Research-based argumentative essay
Defend your thesis statement position by elaborating on the specific question or problem regarding your chosen topic through evidence-based research.
This section must demonstrate critical thinking about your topic and provide a written analysis which demonstrates analytical, critical, reflective and reflexive thinking, and must articulate an explicit connection to course objectives. The thesis statement should be clear and concise.
The research-based argumentative essay must include the following components:
Introduction
Thesis statement (1-2 sentences)
3-5 identified topics, based on your research questions (1 sentence each)
One topic, minimum, must engage with and focus on decolonization, equity, diversity and/or inclusion
Critical discussion of the identified topics, including 2-3 examples for each topic that back up your thesis statement. These examples should be from evidence-backed research
APA formattedLinks to an external site. list of 10 references, as well as inline citations where applicable
Total (including references) should be 1200-1500 words.
Generative AI applications may not be used at any point
Your original proposal included as an Appendix (this just means copy/paste your original proposal (even if the topic changed) at the end so I can reference it easily while grading)
Section 2. Artist′s statement
Prepare an artist′s statement that connects your topic and research to your creative piece.
This statement will demonstrate how you connected research topics, information and themes to your final creative piece. The statement must reflect the conceptual approach to the artistic component and demonstrate the connection between your topic and your creative piece. It must explicitly reference research evidence and describe how that influenced the process and outcome of your creative piece.
The artist′s statement must include the following:
Explicit described connection between research, creative process approach, and final creative piece
A desсrіption of creative process, including process photos if applicable
Critical analysis of your process, identifying any issues or gaps
APA formatted links to an external site. inline citations where applicable, using the same references as your essay (do not include the reference list again)
Total should be 750-1000 words
Generative AI applications may not be used at any point
Your original concept document included as an Appendix (even if the topic changed)
