Students will present a speech persuading the audience to do/visit/try something that has changed their life (and that they believe will change the life of the audience). The student will use four pieces of evidence to persuade the audience, two of which must be from scholarly articles, and one of which must be a rebuttal point. Students will dress in formal attire to present this final speech. Step 1: Pick A Topic You are going to persuade your audience in this final speech. Specifically, you are going to try and help your audience by persuading them to do, visit, or try something that has changed your life and that you think will change theirs. This may take some brainstorming, but perhaps you want to persuade them to learn to ride a motorcycle (do), attend a specific school club or social event (visit), or attempt intermittent fasting for a week (try). Whatever it is, make sure it is something you are passionate about and that you really think would enhance the audience’s life if they haven’t done/visited/tried that thing yet. Step 2: Draft An OutlineJust like the last two outlines you have completed, this is going to be the same basic format. And just like the outlines before, we are going to continue building upon what you already know to further enhance the outline. The primary difference with this outline is that we are adding scholarly (peer-reviewed) articles and a rebuttal point.
