The first article is called “Building an Ethical Company” (7 Pages)
The second article is called “Corporate Ethics Can’t Be Reduced to Compliance” (3 Pages)
The third article is called “Why Most Performance Evaluations Are Biased, and How to Fix Them” (7 Pages)
It should be 3 pages long.
The Reading Interaction is not a book report.
You are to identify and interact with a common thread that
runs through both these articles.
I want you to:
Identify the common thread you are addressing from the
various articles (using proper citation from each reading so I can easily find
your vein of thought).
Present the converging, diverging, or complementary ideas
from the various articles you use on that common subject. (For example: Do the
authors agree or disagree on the subject or are they presenting different sides
of the same issue? How do the articles reflect other ideas common to the era in
which they were written and how has the subject matter experienced evolution
and/or progress? Limitless possibilities exist – these are just two possible
examples.)
Interact with the subject material. Don’t just tell me what
the authors believe … tell me what you believe on the subject matter. It is
not required, but you can find and incorporate other articles or readings on
this same subject matter that present other viewpoints if you wish. What ideas
and thoughts and questions did these readings stir up for you? Section Two is
for synthesis: “Here’s what these various people wrote about this matter.”
Section Three is for thesis: “Here’s where I stand on the matter.”
Close with ideas for how you would implement changes in your
organization based on your work of synthesis and thesis. What real world
implications for change do these readings lead you to want to implement in your
current or future places of work?
