Students are required to write three Analysis papers throughout the semester, one for each Section of the course. For this assignment, students will compose a deeper exploration of the readings and material from each Section. Analysis papers should essentially synthesize material covered in a given section;
they can include: linking related ideas, connecting research concepts, thoughts about emerging themes, making comparisons, and/or critiques etc.
The papers should aim to address the section as a whole and integrate multiple readings or perspectives from the weeks. Analysis papers should not be summaries of readings nor a recap of what was discussed in class.
For Sections 3, submissions should be approximately 2-2.5 pages in length (double-spaced; 500-625 words)
***Please address the following questions:
– How do the various topics presented each week relate to one another?
– What common themes are you seeing in the literature?
– How are the various theories related to one another to create a clear topic that can sum up the first section of this course?
– How are the papers different? Similar?
**Please read the section analysis paper pdf below for detailed rubric.
***all the section 3 readings and lecture slides are provided below for your reference.
**does not require any outsides sources that I did not provided

The Comparative Essay

(how to develop a list of similarities and differences. Although the Section Analysis Paper is not a full essay, looking at this resource on how to identify what items you can compare.)
the Purdue OWL has a section on:

(reviews how to synthesize multiple sources and includes a writing sample of a good vs. bad synthesizing.)
the objective of the analysis papers are to synthesize (e.g., link things, connect items, and/or discuss any themes/patterns from the readings)
