Starting the week of Monday, January 22, you will begin following the emerging electric vehicle sector of the U.S. automobile market. This means all aspects of the market from sales to profitability as well as external factors that exert influence on that part of the automobile industry. In addition, you will select one of the following stocks to follow. This means that you will analyze the past and current financial performance of the company that you select AND you will look into the future and make an estimate of the company’s financial performance. In completing this task, you will summarize your findings by the creation of a stock report that looks very similar to what Merrill Lynch or Morgan Stanley would send out to their customers. In order to receive a superior grade on this assignment, you must reach a summary conclusion based on your analysis that supports a BUY – SELL – HOLD conclusion.

All of these companies trade on a United States stock market. You should chart the
price movement of your selected stock and compare that price movement to the
price movement of the S & P 500. This will allow you to make a comment about
the volatility of the stock you selected and the sector in which it trades.
Your assignment is to write a report of three (3) to five (5) pages. (Please note that longer is not better. Better is best).
This report will address three factors: The industry, the company and its sector and, most important, a decision by you as to whether the stock you selected is under-valued over-valued or fairly valued. And do the future prospects for that company and its sector warrant selling the stock, holding the stock or buying more of it. I have chosen the transportation industry because it is of global interest and it is going though great changes in America.
