rough draft provided , just needs work to be done
-comments profesor had based on the rough draft ( Main corrections needed)
Purpose: To research and write a thorough, well-crafted argument focusing on a topic of particular interest to you. Please do not write on overused topics. The following topics are banned:
Abortion, AIDS, Death Penalty, Euthanasia
Length: Final drafts must be at least 5 full pages (typed, double-spaced). This does not include the bibliography. Please get to the bottom of page five.
Organization: You should utilize a model of argument (Classical, Toulmin, or Rogerian) to organize your paper.
Sources: You should use at least 3 and no more than 5 sources. Since the information needs to be as current as possible, all sources should have been published no earlier than the year 2005. One of the sources must be primary. The others may be secondary sources, such as books, magazines, newspapers, Web sites, etc. Remember, sources should not dominate your paper. They are there to back up your own ideas.
I will ask that you make a copy of each source you use in your research. You will turn in the source with the final draft of your paper. Since you may rely mostly on internet sources due to our current situation with the virus, simply include web links to any internet sources in your bibliography.
Primary Source: A primary source refers to information you seek out and compile on your own. Your primary source may be either an interview or a survey (follow questionnaire guidelines in your textbook). Interviews may be conducted via email, phone, or in person. For these sources, include a copy of your notes or summary of your survey with your final draft. This is explained in the Chapter 7 PowerPoints.
Web sites: Internet sources can provide valuable pieces of information. However, because the environment is relatively unregulated, it is difficult to confirm the accuracy of sources. Please avoid Wikipedia, as anybody can add to or edit entries.
Advice: Please do not use religious sources, such as the Bible, to support your arguments. These sources are based on faith, not scientifically verifiable facts.
Do not plagiarize or use AI. Doing so will result in a 0 for the assignment.
MLA Format: Use MLA format for all citations in your text. Print sources require the author’s last name and page number. Ex: (Johnson 12). Internet sources require the author’s last name and page number as well. If no page number is given, simply use the last name. Ex: (Johnson).
Other Requirements: 1 paragraph proposal (topic, model, stance); annotated bibliography; formal outline; rough draft (optional); final draft with copies of your sources. Please see the proposal example in the Research Project module. Examples for the other requirements are also included.
The final draft should be organized as follows: outline, paper (at least 5 pages with MLA citations), annotated bibliography, and copies of sources.
The use of AI to complete this assignment is prohibited.
