The systems development life cycle (SDLC), also called the systems life cycle or software development life cycle, consists of four main stages: planning, selecting, implementing, and evaluating a health care information system. Regardless of what and how the system a health care organization acquires, various individuals from different departments with their unique backgrounds and areas of expertise come together to perform several needed tasks and accomplish this project.
If the first letter of your last name begins with
A through M, complete planning and selecting stages.
In your initial post:
Identify the issue and need to purchase or upgrade a health information technology (HIT) health information system (HIS) such as artificial intelligence, clinical decision support system, cloud computing, electronic health record, laboratory information system, patient portal, software application, telehealth, etc., in your chosen health care facility.
You may use your selected HIT or HIS for your final paper.
Summarize activities, processes, time, resources, and stakeholders involved in your assigned two stages.
Assess at least two things that could go wrong in your assigned two stages.
Review your classmates’ posts and provide a substantive response to at least two of your classmates assigned to the two different stages. In your peer replies, identify interesting facts, differences, or similarities presented by your classmates. Each response must be a minimum of 100 words. You are encouraged to post your required initial post and replies early each week to stimulate more meaningful and interactive discourse in your discussions.
