Strategic planning is the process that involves setting goals, and determining the actions to achieve those goals. Its important to know how to set and how to execute such plant. Some of the way we can use are the following analysis such as, SMART goals, and the SWOT analysis. As a reminder SMART goals stands for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound. This framework helps create clear, focused and practical goals. The SWAT analysis stands for strategies, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This allows for the company to analyze what the company is doing great now and how to devise a successful strategy for the future. When changes are being planned its important to keep and provide progress and providing a formal process in place to review and approve changes. Providing clear and concise communication is a crucial part. The company or organization should encourage a two way communication and allow for information to be transmitted from higher leaders to frontline employees.

One of the most important techniques needed for strategic planning is finding attainable goals. This can be accomplished by setting clear objectives and developing a detailed plan to control the changes that will be formed. After the goals and a road map are developed, continuous monitoring is needed to make sure that the changes made by the company advance the goals laid out in strategic planning.
To track these changes, specific development teams or project leadership teams can be made to oversee the company’s progress. This can involve current employees being involved in the oversight of these changes at all levels. Typically, additional training and resources may be needed to groom the employees to look for certain patterns and report back to corporate leaders.
For Rivian, strategic planning involves the previous activities of market analysis, SWOT analysis, and corporate leadership. Rivian already has a high employee-focus where employees are regularly trained and encouraged to find better alternatives to workflows if spotted. To implement strategic planning, Rivian regularly updates its employees on what management needs to accomplish for company goals. Communication is essential between the workforce and implementation team where both sides have a common understanding of what strategic plans were made and what the metrics are.
