Visual Aid — The use of one visual aid is required. See advice in your text on visual aids. You may use PowerPoint (but have a second version in your drop box or email). You may use online sites (but make sure that it will not link to an unwanted site after you are done – e.g. this often happens with YouTube sites). You can use an image/object. I have seem some great creativity in ZOOM – make sure if you go “on site” that your connection to the internet can work (we had a very fun speech at a small airport where the student was a pilot, but the connection would not work -he figured it out and went to the simulator vs. the plane, so it was still great but he had to think quickly for a plan B). I have folks in a kitchen sharing their tribute to a food and showed how it looks, bubbles up, etc. That was hard, but so cool! Some folks have brought in the person – ta, da, here is my MOM! Grandma made an appearance – yes, I cried, but no extra credit if your teacher cries 😊. We’ve seen family heirlooms, like a student who shared her grandmother’s Hmong traditional clothing. Some folks have played instruments or even brought in a pet at the end. Good luck if you try one of these more unique methods – just PRACTICE with ZOOM doing whatever you try. AND – yes, a PowerPoint or photo works too.
