Question 1: We have set permissions on the NTFS folder object as well as the File Share object on the server. In two to three paragraphs, describe the interaction between share permissions and NTFS permissions. Be sure to include a description of which takes precedence, what happens if share permissions are more permissible than NTFS permissions, and a scenario where you would want to have more permissive NTFS permissions and more restrictive share permissions.
Question 4: Though we have not used the technology in this lab, describe the benefits of using Microsoft DFS (Distributed File System) and generally what it allows you to do. How would that technology help if we decided we needed to move the file shares to another server and how can you use it to improve redundancy of the file share service. Also include a description along with pros and cons of stand-alone namespaces and domain-based namespaces.
Question 6: In a few paragraphs, describe the Linux file system permissions framework. Include a description of each of the elements of the permissions (the section of the ls -la output, which can resemble: “drwxr-xr-x”. Include a description of how the character representations of individual permissions can be converted into numeric format like we used earlier in this assignment in the “chmod 775” command.
