decision-making process, we will gain insights into the factors influencing consumer behavior

focuses on an individual’s decision to purchase a laptop, highlighting the various steps involved
in the decision-making process. Please refer to chapters 12 and 13 for this assignment.

Your submission includes the following:
A. A title page and reference page that comply with APA formatting requirements.
B. A minimum of 1,000 words of content that includes an introduction and conclusion.
C. Include at least two scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles pertaining to the topic. In

Discuss the following information:
Case Study: The Laptop Purchase Decision
As a student, you (the consumer) need to purchase a new laptop answer each of the following
prompts and support each step below:
1. Problem Recognition: Identify the factors that triggered the consumer’s recognition of the
need for a new laptop. Consider both internal and external stimuli that influenced the
consumer’s problem recognition.
2. Information Search: Examine the sources and channels used by the consumer to gather
information about potential laptops. Discuss the types of information sought (e.g.,
specifications, reviews, pricing) and the role of online platforms, professional reviews,
and personal networks in the consumer’s information search.
3. Alternative Evaluation: Analyze the consumer’s evaluation of different laptop
alternatives. Consider the criteria used by the consumer to assess various brands and
models (e.g., performance, price, brand reputation). Discuss the role of cognitive biases,
decision heuristics, and the consumer’s personal preferences in the alternative evaluation
process.
4. Purchase Decision: Explain the factors that influenced the consumer’s final purchase
decision. Discuss the importance of price, product features, warranty, customer service,
and other relevant factors in the consumer’s decision-making process. Analyze the
consumer’s decision-making style and the extent to which external influences (e.g., sales
promotions, recommendations) played a role.
5. Post-Purchase Evaluation: Evaluate the consumer’s satisfaction with the purchased
laptop. Discuss how the consumer’s post-purchase evaluation is influenced by the laptop’s
performance, durability, ease of use, and customer support. Analyze the impact of post-
purchase experiences on brand loyalty and the potential for positive or negative word-of-
mouth recommendations.
