Part 1: Reflection
Write a 350 to 500 word reflection on the video. Address the following questions in your response (refer to at least 2 scholarly sources to support your writing):
What do you think is the most important part of this initial session? Why?
What were your thoughts on Dr. Aponte’s session with Pam? How do you see him working with Pam, despite her intellectual development disorder?
How would you address the role the father and mother play in the family’s distress?
Part 2: Structural Map Worksheet
Use the Structural Map Worksheet Download Structural Map Worksheet to create a structural map depicting the family in the Structural Family Therapy video.
Draw at least three illustrations to represent how you would envision the family moving through the stages of therapy. You’ll need to use the symbols and descriiptions found in the Families and family therapy text. You may render the maps by hand or use a computer program. Include a 1- to 2-sentence explanation for each depiction.
