Your essay can be on any subject relevant to this module: you can either write about a specific inscription or group of inscriptions; or you can explore a question in Greek history/culture/etc through the medium of epigraphic evidence; your essay can be related to your poster, or on an entirely different topic; and it can be connected to one of the themes we looked at in seminars, or it can be something quite new. The one bit of general advice I would give is: don’t take on too much. You only have 3000 words, so keeping your question tightly focussed will make it easier for you to go into the depth/detail necessary’. I need to use at least 5 primary sources and at least 12 secondary.
