I have started on this essay on In person learning being more effective .Than online I need to add on to the end of it though I have 800 words & need 1k more. You’re basically just arguing each of the sides points & stating why in person is better.
“Have you ever thought about what you want to be when you grow up or what you want to do with your future? Well if you haven’t, no time would be better than now considering today’s society and how fast our technology is growing you want to be in some sort of ballpark with an idea. You must keep in mind your education and the role it plays in having a successful life. Education can be found in many different ways especially in today’s world but those students with high achieving mindsets need to take in person classes in order to better benefit their life. Now that statement cant be said with ease there’s a huge debate on whether virtual or online learning is more beneficial. Many organizations and Doctors have actually taken the time to dive into statistics and research information giving people the actual differences and benefits of In person school.
This specific argument has gained major attention these past couple of years and researchers have made it clear which one is more prominent than the other, a research I found called “Evaluating Learning Outcomes and Assessing Social Work Skill Development: Comparing Online vs. In-Person Education” goes into depth on the two by doing such things like standardized tests, observations, and self-assessments tools. This article was published by Kelli E. Canada, Rebekah A. Freese, Rachel M. Bailey & Dale Fitch all which are alums of The University of Missouri all holding a PHD degree, making their information and studies credible. They stated that there were differences in students’ major assessment scores such as the bio-pyscho-scoial assessment. I also found another article “Remote and In-Person Learning: Utility Versus Social Experience” this article talked about the social interaction and engagement, they compared the learning effectiveness of the two “this research collected quantitative and qualitative data from 336 students of all the years of studies” All of the students preferred in-person teaching and reported higher engagement, learning and understanding during the classroom teaching. This article also dates back to Covid year 2020 where a lot of these debates stem from, this was the year classrooms switched from in-person to virtual learning. It was a huge shift for students, especially seniors. I myself experienced the switch rather shortly after entering highschool and can say myself that there was a drastic difference. I personally could see a shlump within my grades, excessive amounts of sleep, and on some occasions sleeping during class. Everyone says there during this time there was always freedom but I think it was too much freedom. This article also states “Low motivation, low concentration, and distraction caused by the home environment are commonly reported problems during ERT.” This problem would lead to too many other issues down the road. Virtual learning showed very little to none discipline to the students which you could see translate in other aspects of life. Not only did it give kids a lack of discipline but it also blocked some of their focuses and oftentimes would take the motivation right out of the student. Students would often spend time trying to find their social interaction vs doing some homework or study since social interaction was limited and heavily enforced at this time. You also have to take into account those students who may struggle in the classroom or simply those of special needs, it’s not just as easy to tell them that class is virtual now when they’ve become accustomed to their classroom, peers and teachers etc, hands on learning was very vital to some during this period. Adding virtual learning also added a workload to a lot of students, this would not only make it harder to get work in on time, but also harder for student athletes to manage their practice schedules and workloads.
Based on the arguments and issues above this indicates that remote learning while it can be beneficial often not. Another very important factor when speaking on this argument of online school vs in person is Job opportunities once you’ve reached a certain age. A lot of jobs in today’s society tend to give jobs to those who have earned some sort of degree obviously but when it comes down to it who experienced the on hand learning or training that is needed for the specific task or job, and this can be seen in many different ways such as those who apply for a communication job but experienced virtual learning and the time period during it where speaking face-to-face wasn’t as easy. If you’re blessed with the job you could easily put yourself at risk of losing it due to the lack of communication skills acquired which in some cases isn’t the person’s fault.”
