Each paper must be a write-up after attending and viewing one of 2 virtual concerts during the semester. Each paper must be 750 words. Papers that are not at least 750 words will automatically be scored as an “F”.
Papers must be written in MLA Format, be in paragraph form, and follow proper grammar and punctuation. Papers will be graded based on the rubric below:
Guidelines: For each paper, the student must attend and watch a live virtual performance and provide details on said performance and the overall experience watching the performance.
Try to provide information such as:
– What was the name of the group?
– What did you think of the performance?
– Which instruments were the most featured?
– Where did the performance take place?
– Who were the musicians performing in the group?
– Which of the styles discussed in class did you recognize in the performance?
Be sure to provide detailed information:
– Please be more specific than “This concert was really good”
– Put song titles in quotation marks.
– Try to describe the music in terms of the musical elements we explore in class
– The rhythm of the pieces
– The melodies
– The harmony
– The overall mood of the songs.
Write in past tense.
