During residency weekend, students will be assessed on four (4) main assignments
1. Completion and presentation of an assigned case study as a team (250 points).

Case Study Team Project (250 Points) :
The professor will randomly assign students into teams corresponding to the following case study assignments located in the textbook:
Group 3: Case Study 2-60: Understanding Cost Concepts (pp. 78-79)
Case Study Team Project Requirements :
A) Each team will prepare a write-up and a PowerPoint presentation of the solutions to the Case Study utilizing the following Structure:
Briefly provide an Overview of the case study facts
Identify and describe the Managerial Accounting Topic
Briefly identify the Requirements in the case study
Provide the Solutions to the requirements in the case study
Provide Personal Thoughts regarding major learning points from the case study
B) Provide the team’s completed written solutions to the professor prior to the team’s presentation
C) PowerPoint Presentation:
1. Each team will have exactly 15 minutes to present their solutions to the class using PowerPoint slides (Please rehearse). Do not read the PowerPoint slides to the class.
2. Each team member must actively and equally participate in the presentation.
3. For five (5) to ten (10) minutes, other students will provide presentation style feedback to the team members
D) A group case study progress report must be submitted for a grade at the conclusion of Day 1 of the residency. This progress report will constitute 50 points of your grade for this assignment.
Research Paper Team Project (250 points):
This is a graduate course and students will be expected to research and write papers summarizing in their own words what they have found on current topics in managerial accounting from the weekly readings. Students will also be expected to orally present their findings to their peers.
The research must be conducted using peer-reviewed trade or academic journals . While Blogs , Wikipedia , encyclopedias, textbooks, popular magazines, newspaper articles, online websites, etc. are helpful for providing background information, these resources are NOT suitable references/resources for this research assignment.

Research Paper Team Project Requirements:
A) Topic Research:
1. Teams will be randomly assigned a research topic from the list provided by the professor.
2. Teams will research/find at least four (4) different peer-reviewed articles on the assigned topic from the University of the Cumberlands Library online business journal database. The peer-reviewed journal article(s) must be current/published within the last ten (10) years.
B) Paper and Presentation Structure
1. Write a minimum of five (5) pages, double spaced, in APA format, discussing the findings on your assigned topic in your own words. Note – paper length does not include cover page or References page.
2. Structure the paper as follows :

Overview describing the importance of the research topic in your own words
