Directions: The Analysis of Classroom Management Essay provides an opportunity for you to discuss your learning over the course of the semester, how the management techniques and strategies have been implemented in your classroom(s), and the ways that these serve to promote a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. You are to report on how you have promoted productive and on-task student behavior and how you have responded to students when they have exhibited off task behavior.

The essay will have three parts:
Part 1: Provide an analysis of the routines, systems, or structures you have implemented in your classroom to promote positive, on task behavior. Make connections between the course literature and your teaching practices. Specifically discuss what you do as a teacher that contributes to a culture of learning. How is your approach to classroom management informed by who your students are as learners and the personal, cultural, and community assets they possess?

Part 2: Provide an analysis of an incident, or series of incidents, where students demonstrated off-task behavior. How did you respond, and how was your response connected to or reflective of the approaches discussed in this course? How did you take account of who your students are as learners, and the personal, cultural and community assets that they possess?

Part 3: Reflect on your future teaching practice. In what ways do you want to continue to grow and develop as an educator in relation to classroom management and enabling productive relationships with students? How would this professional development inform your work with your students in the future?
