Develop an argument over a narrow topic within Food & Nutrition. I have chosen Fast Food Addiction/Consumption & Effects on Mental Health in College Students. I have downloaded my resources below.
Analytical Responses: These responses should be “academic writing” (critical/analytical, organized prose with evaluations and examples, written in clear, concise, grammatically correct English). All critical responses should be carefully written and revised before submission. Each response will be guided by a prompt and should meet the length (750 words), source, and format requirement (MLA). You’re encouraged to evaluate the works you are discussing in your response, but please avoid facile, subjective responses (“this book sucked,” “this essay rocked,” “WTF?”, etc.). All opinions should be precise, concrete, and supported by specific examples (direct quotes). If any research or outside information is used in the response, provide in-text citations and a works cited page.
● Do not use a title page in this course
● Use the tab key (rather than space bar) to indent each new paragraph
● Use a page break (Ctrl+Enter) to separate the essay from the works cited page
● Double-space the full document. There should be no extra spaces between paragraphs, which Word includes by default. To keep proper spacing, make sure that you format MS Word properly. Default settings often leave extra space between paragraphs. Before beginning, open a new document, select Paragraph (middle of the menu at the top of the screen), make sure there is a zero (0) put in the Before and the After boxes. Having extra space will cause point deductions in your grade. NEXT, at the top of this menu, you will notice the tab entitled Line and Page breaks. Select this tab and be sure that there is not a checkmark in the Widow/Orphan Control.
● Each page should have a header with your last name and page number. To insert header information, follow this path: Insert, Header, Blank. The header should open. Next, in the menu above, select Page Number, Top of Page, Plain #3. This will number the page for you. Be sure to type your last name, space, then the page number (should be there already).
● Use 11 point Garamond font for all work in this course
● Margins should be 1 inch all the way around
