Close Reading Essay: Please note that, regardless of which option you choose, this is a close reading essay. You do not need to do outside research for this essay. However, you may use any material from the course that I provide in the weekly modules. You may do outside research, but the focus is on close reading; therefore, you should quote extensively from There There, analyzing the quotes you use from the novel to support your assertions.

Option Three: Connection to Course
Take one or more concepts that we examined in the course before reading the novel, and write a close reading essay examining how the novel explores the concept using both the novel and the source from class as support.
