First, make an argument about the primary source. This argument will be a sentence that looks like a thesis statement. Next, use the primary text and the secondary source to provide evidence to prove your argument. You will need to both close read the text and use the secondary source. You may agree or disagree with the secondary source. Demonstrate your ability to close read. Close reading means you will make an argument and prove it with quotes from the text that you pick.
