Assignment 9.1Assignment 9.1
Hierarchy
Create a type-based infographic (no images, no symbols, no lines or boxes, text only) that explains how to make a sandwich using the steps below.
Your solution cannot use numbers.
The steps cannot be in order; that is, they cannot read from the top of the page to the bottom. Instead, you will use typographic hierarchy to indicate which step comes first, which follows it, and so on.
You must create this by hand (no computers) and you must use 8.5 x 11-inch paper (vertical or horizontal). You may use two colors (shades and tints are allowed). You may use two styles of type.
The goal is to use typographic hierarchy tools (size, weight, font, placement, etc.) to lead us through the steps in order, even though they are out of order on the page. A successful design will tell us where to go from step to step visually, without using top-to-bottom reading or numbers, and will put all steps in the correct order for us.
Sandwich steps in order:
place two slices of bread on a plate
spread desired amount of mayo on left piece of bread and desired amount of mustard on right piece of bread
add cheese of choice to left piece of bread
add meats of choice to right piece of bread
add choice of sliced tomato, pickles, and/or lettuce
combine the two pieces of bread carefully
cut diagonally
enjoy with side of chips and choice of beverage
Post your final image to the discussion board.
