Assignment Instructions: During the student experience at the child development center, student will observe the biologic, cognitive and social age-related development of a child with a functional or dysfunctional health pattern. Student should use Erikson’s Theory of Development as a guide as well as developmental milestones studied from the Ricci Maternal/Pediatric Textbook. Choose one current evidenced-based article covering the development (biologic, social, cognitive) of a child. In a two-three (2-3) page APA 7th edition format paper, student will compare the interrelationship of the biologic, cognitive, and social age-related development of the observed child to the researched article.
You will not do an actual summary or paragraph of just the article. You are using the research within the article to compare the interrelationship of the biologic, cognitive and social age-related development of the observed child as stated above. Your research should be utilized within your paper and cited appropriately. You may have one citation or more than one depending on the information you pulled from your article. Do not just use citations to write your paper as it is then not considered your paper. With that said, anything you pull directly from the article whether you paraphrase or quote, you must remember to cite accordingly.
Reference page must be completed even if you are only using one article. Be careful utilizing Microsoft word or any other resource to assist you with the reference page formatting. You MUST ensure the references are formatted according to APA guidelines. Please look over the APA Guidelines. OWL Purdue is an excellent resource. I have provided a link for you here: Owl Purdue Links to an external site.
An important note: please proofread your paper. Ask yourself if it makes sense and does it flow when you read it? Have someone else, maybe a classmate, proofread before you do your final submission. You must be able to communicate not only by speaking but in your writing.
*Paper should be 2-3 pages, NOT including title page or reference page. No abstract is required.
