Being able to create an effective lesson plan is a key skill that you will require as a teacher. This week’s Lesson Plan Assignment is based on the unit plan outline from Week 2(file attached). It is time to further develop one of your ideas into a formal edTPA lesson plan.
Use the Lesson plan Template (file attached) to create an elementary-level social studies lesson plan, in which you incorporate a minimum of 4 of the strategies outlined in Ch. 10 of Social Studies in Elementary Education:
Teaching concepts
Teaching with inquiry
Teaching social studies skills
Asking good questions
Teaching with cooperative learning groups
Include an activity in the lesson that incorporates a simulation or current event.
